Having watched Louisville win an NCAA basketball championship recently, I was impressed with the effort that was expended (by both teams) but it seemed to me that the players on Louisville’s team “wanted it” a bit more. In 1 Corinthians 9:24-27, Paul tells the believers in Corinth to “run in such a way as to win the prize.” If the prize means the approval of Jesus Christ (see Philippians 3:12-14), then we should all ask ourselves the question, “What am I living for?” If we are not sure about our answer, we can all check our day timers, our checkbooks, and examine our leisure time activities for a fairly accurate answer. To truly live for the approval of Christ is to come to the end of our lives with no regrets! May it be so for us beginning today!
